Our co-operative playgroup meets 3 mornings a week for preschool-style activities: Every day the children enjoy free play in our well-stocked toy rooms, a healthy nut-free snack, crafts, and circle time with songs and stories, all with their trusted caregiver nearby!

Baby & Me

NEW this year: our Break For Parents Program, catering to children still on 2+ naps and their parents/caregivers. This program runs Monday and Thursdays from 11am-12:30pm. Connect with other new parents in the neighborhood. Drop-in as you please. Unlimited coffee!

BFP offers:

*** NOTE: We are currently in a temporary space while our usual space undergoes renovations, so the layout is more simple and there are fewer toys. We still have snacks, crafts and a ton of space to run around, so the kiddos don’t seem to mind! The temporary space is located just a block away from our usual space (Runnymede & Bloor) ***

A large indoor space with ride-on toys (tricycles, cars, etc) for Gross Motor Play on even the coldest days!
2 play rooms full of a huge variety of Toys, so you don't have to fill your house with them!
A well-stocked Crafts area, so they can explore their creative side without making a mess at home!
A healthy nut-free Snack for the littles, Coffee, Tea and nut-free Baked Goods for the adults!
A warm place to gather and enjoy Community and Playmates all year long!

Break for Play: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings 9-11:15am from September 25th - June 20th.
New this year! Break for Parents: Monday and Thursdays from 11am-12:30pm for younger children still on 2+ naps.
Joining is easy: complete the registration form. When offered a place, pay your fee, provide your child’s vaccination documentation, and join a committee.
Break for Play fee: currently $90/month (approx 7$/visit, to cover rent and food)
Break for Parents fee: currently $50/ month (approx 6$/visit, to cover rent and food)
Monthly, semi-annual and annual memberships available.

*** UPDATE: Committee obligations are paused for now while we are in our temporary space. So just show up and enjoy a coffee while the kiddos play! ***
To keep things simple this year, we are only going to have three committees: Baking, Toy Wash, and Social.
- Bakers should expect to contribute the baked goods for the week once every 6 weeks (assuming 6 committee members)
- Toy washers should expect to contribute one evening every two months or so to wash toys with others on the committee (toys are washed monthly, committee members alternate).
- Social committee members should expect to help organize special events every month or two (Halloween party, Holiday party, End-of-year party, etc.)
Alternatively, members can join the executive committee which ideally consists of 2 Co-Presidents, Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Coordinator, Communications Coordinator, and Executive Backup.

Monthly Social Events

Our Social Committee prepares special events each month for holidays such as Halloween and Valentine’s Day, or themes like kindness, the environment, and beach day.

Daily Snack

Our Family Coordinator prepares healthy snacks with lots of variety for the children. Our Baking Committee provides delicious home made items for adults, rounded out with unlimited coffee and tea!
